Exciting!!

Well, I have taken the plunge and started a Blog about my patchwork adventures and everyday domestic life from my little weatherboard mountain home.

I recently decided that I had spent way too much time working hard on our business and had left my "creative" self by the wayside...
Here in my Blog I hope to chat about my endeavours to complete some quilts which I started a few years back...I will post some pictures as I go, and hopefully get some advice along the way.

I have just enrolled in two classes at Post Office Patchwork in Glenbrook, at the foot of the beautiful Blue Mountains, where I live.

I will be going to general classes once a week with Rhonda, the lovely owner. At this class I hope to be able to improve my techniques and I figure by going along weekly, it will keep me motivated to try and do some sewing every day...

The other class I have enrolled in is run by the amazing Karen Cunningham...Karen and I met in 2003 at a Patchwork shop in Wentworth Falls, and I attended classes with her for about 18 months. It was during this time that I started a couple of quilts which I can say are very close to completion.

I adore English piecing, love sewing by hand. I have almost completed a machine pieced quilt, and have done a little applique...these last two are techniques that I am hoping to improve and I hope to challenge myself constantly to take on stuff I am not 100% comfortable with.

Hubby and I have two gorgeous teenage daughters, an adorable Silky x Maltese named Ollie, and two cats - Tammy aged two and a half and Presley the kitten, who came into our family on Anzac Day this year.

Our cottage is on the market at the moment, and once it's sold we are moving to a bigger weatherboard cottage on 3.3acres...very excited about starting a "new" garden...but will miss our home of the last 18 years...

So this is My space for all things creative and I suspect some "everyday" stuff will also find its way here.

Til next time. I will post some pictures of my UFO's
